Adios San Miguel

Amazining to think it has been two weeks since our return from our San Miguel de Allende. I am still blownaway by all the art and the appreciation of it there side by side the appreciation of the history of SMdA. They have kept it all, the cobblestone streets, the colonial buildings, the amazing food, their religion and their warmth toward visitors. And visitors that have decided to stay.

There are some inevitable contrasts that remain from keeping it all. I can still smell the oil in the Fabrico from the huge equipment juxtaposed with contemporary art hung on the walls. The exhaust in the town Center was stifling from the polluting cars jammin up and down the steep streets. I found these contrasts honest albeit somewhat noxious.

SMdA is an enigmatic place- a place that will fuel inspiration in my studio. I am thankful for the experience.
